Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County’s ReStore is proud to present Joe and Charlotte Esworthy, our Volunteers of the Month. They became involved in volunteering through their oldest son, Habitat for Humanity board member Josh Esworthy.
Jim Martin is Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County’s ReStore Volunteer of the Month. Martin volunteers two mornings a week. His duties include processing new donations, merchandising, assisting customers, and using his carpentry skills to build display fixtures.
“We’re fortunate to have Jim as a part of our ReStore team. He attended our Volunteer Recruitment night and has been with us ever since. We look forward to the days Jim volunteers because he has such a great attitude and an even better sense of humor,” says Linda Myers, the Restore Volunteer Coordinator.
Meet Bob Harrison, Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County’s ReStore Volunteer of the Month for June. Harrison volunteers three days a week answering the phone and running the register, making him the first interaction for many donors and customers contacting the ReStore.
Shirley and Gary German are the Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County ReStore Volunteers of the Month for May. These active retirees have consistently shown they have a heart for volunteering, and have been using their spare time to help at the ReStore since shortly after the ReStore opened in August.
Franklin’s dedication to the ReStore is amazing, from helping with pickups to assisting customers, he is the muscle that keeps us moving forward. Franklin, 31, of Snow Hill, has loved helping others since he was a child, and says that volunteering at the ReStore is not only rewarding but also fun.
Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County, Inc. (HFHWC) is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, serving the needs of families within Worcester County, MD. HFHWC addresses the permanent housing needs of hardworking families through its Homebuyer Build Program for new homeowners, and Critical Repair Program for existing homeowners.
We are seeking a Donations Ambassador for our ReStore. The Donations Ambassador reports to the ReStore Manager and is responsible for picking up donations from residences and businesses in Worcester County and the surrounding areas, assisting customers/donors in loading and unloading merchandise, assisting with cleaning and organizing warehouse, loading dock and to supervise volunteers as needed.
We are seeking a ReStore Manager to manage the marketing and sales of donated furniture and appliances and surplus building materials in order to ensure the generation of funds in support of Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County’s mission-specific initiatives. The Manager is responsible for the operation, financial reporting, inventory procurement and management, staffing, and volunteer co-ordination of the new ReStore.
